Chicken Lips – Echoman (2000)

Over the 00`s, the decade of the new style disco forms, I`ve read and heard lots of “disco this, disco that” but the fact was that finding a good nudisco album became a real hard task. Maybe only a handful of artists could reach the level achieved by Chicken Lips in Echoman.

I`m not a specialist on the theme but I guess the union of some of the ideas of Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith made the avenue in which many artists have been walking through during 00`s. Some would say they are pioneers of the spaced-out dub nu disco.

I´d say that it`s like a combo of electro-dub influences glancing disco, perhaps.. Check out the original post where i find it at The Light Of The Night. The one behind that dark red pages knows the matter, few word that say everything. Once there, check the disco and funk tags, I guess you`ll find something cool.

VA - Krem`s Kutz: A Kollection Of Hand-Picked Kutz (2010)

Hey up folks,

Most of blogs have lots of their own collections, bootlegs and mixtapes being the vast majority raw, lacking refinement (in my terribly poor opinion, as usual). Well, I won`t make anything different! Better requires time, tools and effort which I can`t buy in the store on the corner.

But I still thought it was time to deliver something alike here... And, probabilistically by chance (?!), I`ve got a reason to go for it. These dark pages have scored 2k visitors! It`s been such a fast run when I think about the first days AUDIOVISOR got lanched!

Just another poor work that takes a lil of me. I`ve made some minor cutting edits to make tracks flow better. I could`ve done it better, using some cheap tricks but (again) it would takes me time. Yet, I`m satisfied with the result! Hope you get too!

Kutz that comprise things listened over the last months, a jorney through the colours of soul/funk/brazillian/disco/house!! Kutz to enjoy alone (my case right now) or drinking with friendzzZZ, warm ups or... go ahead! take a listen and find the ocasion(s) it fits better!!

Database presents Ugly Edits Vol. 2 (2009)

November is my B-day`s month and it`s coming to the end. So here comes something to make your party up before the time is over!!

DATABASE is a brazilian duo that comprises childhood friends, Lucio Morais and Yuri Chix. While students in film school, the two became famous for gathering the entire student body together—from freshman geek to senior stud—to the dance floor of São Paulo’s legendary, now-extinct club, “AmpGalaxy".

The two released their first compilation, “Ugly edits Vol.1” in early 2008. Around this time, they were invited to remix Fatboy Slim, and got together with his label (Southern Fried Records) to release their Miami EP, collaborating with Bonde do Role. From these two releases, their notoriety grew rapidly in Brazil, playing in some of the country’s biggest festivals.

In 2009 they released their second compilation, “Ugly edits Vol.2”. This is not a physical compilation album but a digital release and you can get it for free at their myspace in good quality (320 kbps).

Just to make things easy you can CLICK HERE, instead. You can check also check it at last.fm and get the tracks there, but it`s poor quality and only contain Database`s edits which is less than half of the pack that includes 13 DB`s edits plus 23 edits from their friends.

Dusty forgotten records revived by the hands of new artists through their edits... maybe that`s the best way I can express these musics. Other people just call it "NU DISCO"!

In these compilations you will hear a very interesting "new" way to produce music (if they produce something indeed), making the old sounds new and vice versa. Maybe for some listeners, it shows how much our the modern danceflooor music inherited from old styles and also how much it could have inherited....

Very good music!!.. I can`t say the same about the album charts..
